An illustrated and hand-lettered zine that introduces that concept of "everyday resistance" or the ways in which individuals use their bodies and self expression as tools of protest on a daily basis. Here are 15 small ways people these days can challenge the often harmful hegemonic standards of beauty, belief, and behavior.
What's an election without some sensational and inflammatory candidate spoofs? All silliness aside, these posters reflected my own biased views of the candidates. The graphic sexual treatment applied to both candidates acts as an equalizer, while it functions in opposite ways between the posters.
In lieu of the 2nd Presidential Debate being held on my campus, I received funding to construct a political poster wall. Throughout history, posters have been an integral component of political and social movements. Now due to the digital age, posters seem to have lost some of their clout. However I hoped to harken back to a visual culture and tradition of free speech and radicalism. The wheat paste technique pays homage to counterculture activism and flypost propaganda.
